Percy was born on a 107 F day on the way to the livestock auction amongst a gaggle of geese. The livestock auction promised Faith and other attendees to sell him and his mother together but then they ended up auctioning them off separately. His mother was sold for meat. At four hours old, was sold alone to a little old lady for seven dollars. After getting him, she realized she had no idea how to care for him and turned him over to Faith who was picking up some rescued cats.
He was so small that Faith was able to put him in the small cat carrier with two other kittens to bring him back to the rescue. She had to bottle-feed him every two hours so that he would survive and it took him a long time to calm down from the ordeal and being seperated from his mother.
Percy is part angora, so he gets really soft, long hair in the winter. Percy arrived in 2002 so he's getting middle aged now, but he doesn't know it. He still thinks that he is a baby and needs to be spoiled so he is always following the pig feeders around trying to sneak a snack.
