Jackson was turned over to Ching in 2006 by a gentleman who was going to sale Jackson to the feedlot, but his friend convinced him otherwise. He had raised Jackson himself and used him for riding for 21 years, but Jackson doesn't like to be ridden and was always stubborn about it. If you even try to put a saddle on him, he will simply lay down! This has made it hard to put a blanket on him in the winter! He gets jumpy and makes it hard to strap the legs on. Jackson has been adopted out twice and returned twice so he will not be adopted out again and will stay at Ching for the rest of his life. It is our belief that if he doesn't want to be ridden, he doesn't have to. Jackson has bonded with Bella and he will follow her anywhere. He was also good friends with Sampson the mule before he passed away.
